An Analysis of MSM

MSM, or mainstream media, is the term used to refer to the large companies that provide us with our daily news. Examples of mainstream media include CNN, Fox, MSNBC, and the New York Times. These companies can output various types of media from newspapers to tv broadcasts to social media news feeds.

While these large media companies are generally perceived to be more accurate than other sources, some are concerned about the biases these companies have (ex: Fox for conservatives). Donald Trump's performance in a debate could either be described as very powerful and successful, or as a complete failure based on where you get your news from. This could create an echo-chamber where people only take in news they approve of and reject news that they find less appealing.
